The Transformers in the Animal Kingdom


I’m sure you have seen the film “The Transformers”. And yes, there are also transformers in the animal world. Scroll down and find out.

Are you familiar with the Tiger Salamander? The tadpole of this unusual transformer in the animal planet can be plankton-eaters or carnivores from the weather. After it does this the tadpoles transform into adult salamanders.




Caterpillars are among the most popular transformers in the animal world. They transform into moths and butterflies.



Have you seen a Stick Insect? A good vision is needed in order to identify this creature. This unique insect undergoes three transformations into ants, scorpions and leaves.



Sea Squirts are amazing marine creatures. They started as tadpole-like creature, and then they lost their brain and limbs becoming vegetables on the sea bed.



Wrasse are colorful; species of fish. They are often sold as aquarium pets. Wrasses are led by a male. When the male leader dies, a female Wrasse can change sex to become a male within two weeks.



Flatfish are uniquely shaped fish. The eyes of these marine animals change from one side of the body to the other side to become flat.




Naked Mole Rat is a unique-looking burrowing rodent. It is one of the most unusual-looking and eyeless mammal. It can stretch its stomach by choice when pregnant.



Mimic Octopuses are the masters of mimicry. These incredible sea creatures, believe it or not, it can change shape, color and skin texture in one second. Aren’t they amazing?!



Arctic Foxes are great transformers too. They can disguise themselves in two different coats, one for the summer and one for the winter.



Have you heard about the Ribeiroia? This creature is very unusual. It starts in a heron which excretes the Ribeiroia eggs out which go in and out of a Snail, goes into a tadpole, the tadpole turns into a frog, and it makes the frog grow extra limbs, which is a sitting duck for herons, where the flatworm lays eggs and the cycle starts all over again.
